Have you ever think that a product borns, grows, lives and deads? Yeah that’s true. I think products are like us.

First a product introduces to market. It’s called introduction stage or we can call it as borning. When a new product exists owner or developer has to spend money for promotion. The biggest expenditures are occured at introduction stage.

Then it comes to growth stage. Sales increase rapidly at this stage. But the number of competitors increase too. So, promotion requires bigger money to compete. Price of the product can decrease, new features and utility can be added to the product. The good thing is that product and its producer is known more and more people everyday. So the company becomes more valuable.

At the maturity stage sales don’t increase even they decrease a little. But this is the most profitable and longest stage. Owners starts to search or develop a new product because they see that in one day will come and the maturity stage will end.

I think the decline stage is inevitable. We can call this stage as retirement too. Sales decrease every day. Preventions can not help to stop that decrease. They can just help to gain extra time. Some products can live at this stage for long time because of new alternatives can not give same utility for long time. This stage occurs mainly because of technological developments and changing in tastes of people.

Do you think that there is a similarity between a human life and a product life?
